IPL Season 5 Opening Ceremony Hosted By Big B Amitabh Bachchan

This year the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League is hosted by the Big B of the Bollywood industry, the legend himself – Mr Amitabh Bachchan. The opening ceremony of IPL 2012 will be held in Chennai on the 3rd of April and the series of matches will start from the 4th April. The opening ceremony of this mega event which was much awaited will be held at the YMCA College of Physical Education situated in Chennai. Like rest of the previous seasons of Indian Premier League, this year also people will witness the blend of Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities in the opening ceremony, starting at 7.30 pm in the evening.




Big B commented on Twitter, the social networking site used by most celebrities that it will be a great honor to meet the various teams of IPL and their captains who he had watched only on television. He also stated that he is quite nervous but is also very enthusiastic about hosting the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League this year. The sixty nine year old superstar was hospitalized for two surgeries in his abdomen last month and was on a break to recover physically. Apart from Big B, other Bollywood celebrities participating in the Indian Premier League’s opening ceremony this season are Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan who will be performing in this mind blowing event.


From Hollywood you will witness the stunning performance of Katy Perry, the very popular singer and actor on the opening night of IPL 2012. The team captains of all the nine IPL teams will be taking the ‘MCC Spirit of Cricket Pledge’ during the opening ceremony. The venue gates will be opened from 5 pm in the evening and the ticket which costs around fifteen hundred (starting price) is now available to the people who wants to be a part of this mega event.
